Enormous Early 20th C Wrought Iron American Arbor

Enormous Early 20th C Wrought Iron American Arbor

Large, well-priced garden structures are particularly difficult to find, but we scored a winner in this American wrought iron arbor dating to the 1920s. In two sections that screw together at the top, it features a sturdy riveted wrought iron frame with lovely cross-hatched undulating thick wire attached to the frame. True and straight in form, and with no repairs or missing pieces, it will support pretty much any climber except for aggressive wisteria that when mature, is too heavy for all antique arbors. Imagine this beauty at the far end of an allée covered in Montana Rubens Clematis or Flowering Trumpet Vine. In an old black painted surface with some surface rusting, this arbor is lovely and durable in all climates and we love its look as is, but can have it sandblasted and powder-coated or re-painted to your custom specifications for a modest up-charge. Please note that the depth without the feet is listed below, but the depth including the feet is 32 inches.

Magnificent 19th C French Wrought Iron 24 Ft. Long Pergola with Original Brackets

Magnificent 19th C French Wrought Iron 24 Ft. Long Pergola with Original Brackets

This is truly a very special piece! Sourced from a bistro in Lyon, France, this massive curved-end wrought iron pergola is 24 feet long and features decorative rosettes, its original paint with surface rusting throughout, and four enormous hand-wrought brackets. The frame was originally inserted into a stone wall with the brackets supporting the 4 intersecting rails to provide shade for the bistro's diners. The original insertion parts are still on the brackets, but we have had a massive steel back railing constructed to support the entire structure, as the original one was left behind in the bistro's walls. The frame is now meant to be wall-mounted on a very sturdy wall. The frame separates into two 12 foot long pieces, making transport a bit more easy, but the total frame weight is around 2500 lbs, so a forklift is required to load and unload. A very special piece that you will never find again, it will make your garden!

19th C French Arch-Top Square Arbor with Eight-Armed Plant Hanger

19th C French Arch-Top Square Arbor with Eight-Armed Plant Hanger

This combination of pieces is truly stunning. The 19th Century square wrought iron arbor has been heightened by seamlessly adding several feet of matching pointed steel stakes to each leg that makes insertion into the ground a breeze. The similarly-aged eight-armed plant hanger is all hand-forged and has been hung from the center of the arbor to create more visual mass and provide a spot to hang 8 lush flower pots that will provide immediate shade while your climbers are getting started on the frame. When installed and planted, you will have a fabulous garden centerpiece that can fit a small table and four chairs for dining or, as shown in the photos, house a large fountain for added oomph. Please note that the copper fountain is not included in the price, but is available for $11,750.
