Authentic Vintage Tolix A56 Armchairs in Original Paint

Authentic Vintage Tolix A56 Armchairs in Original Paint

Designed by Jean Pauchard in 1956, son of Xavier Pauchard who founded Tolix in 1925, the A56 armchair or “fauteuil” in French has become one of the most influential pieces of 20th Century metal furniture design. A true innovator in French industrial design, Xavier Pauchard, the son of a zinc roofer, began producing household items that integrated a major innovation in France: the use of hot dip galvanizing to protect iron from oxidation. Tolix designs have become iconic worldwide and are widely loved and imitated for their sleek industrial design and practicality. These, however, are authentic A56 Chairs in original red and yellow paint and in lovely vintage condition. Perfect in the garden or inside where a splash of color is desired, they make wonderful dining chairs or use them for cocktails paired with our authentic Tolix Model 55 Table (Stock # FTRE 1023) also listed for sale.
