Collection of Twelve French Walnut Napoleon III Pétanque Boules

Collection of Twelve French Walnut Napoleon III Pétanque Boules

Boules are used to play Pétanque, the French equivalent of Boccé, and this set is beautiful. Made from walnut and dating to the 1870s, the set comprises two different sizes, ten larger and two smaller, some incised with circular detailing, and all beautifully-patinated from years of use. Use them as decorative objects, piled high in a chunky glass container or grouped on a table or mantle atop curtain rings which will keep them from rolling. In lovely antique condition, they all have a few dings, but they are newly cleaned and waxed, so that the beauty of the wood shines through. And the French wooden trug (Ref # DST 1018) is a great display item for the boules and is priced at $350) The boules are priced and sold as a set. Dimensions are as follows:

Large boules: Diameter: 4.25 in

Small Boules: Diameter: 3.75 in

France, CA 1870

Price:  $1,400, the set of twelve
