Large Pair of French Scalloped-Top Planters in Old Green Wash
We’ve never seen this form of planter before and they make an impressive statement indeed! Sculpted from concrete over an iron armature, these have good age and their commodious planting wells, each with four drain holes, will allow you to plant topiary, small trees, or a profuse display of flowers and trailing vines. In excellent structural condition, there is a small, fully-weathered chip to one top corner that does not detract from the overall appearance. With a lovely faded green wash to the outside surface, scalloped top edges, and decorative bullnose detailing, they would look magnificent flanking the entrance to your home or on the corners of a terrace or pool. Please note that each weighs about 300 pounds, and they can be left outside in all climates, provided you empty the planting wells in harsh winters and keep the drain-holes open for added protection against the freeze-thaw cycle.
