Petit Hand-Carved Bourgogne Stone Lavoir Trough, circa 1800
This stunning hand-carved stone lavoir was originally used to wash clothes in France and this one does not disappoint. Carved from a single piece of stone, it boasts a fabulous lichened and weathered surface and is made of very hard stone so no worries about leaving this beauty outside in northern winters. It would make a stunning fountain positioned front to back, so that the water would cascade down the canted surface into the basin or plant it up with an exuberant display of annuals or perennials. Internal depth measures 11 inches.
