Pair of Authentic 1930s French Faux Bois Split-Log Planters on Legs
We see so much reproduction faux bois out there that we thrilled to come across this authentic pair of planters that dates to the 1930s. A rare and pleasing form allows for profuse plantings and their height gives them enough oomph to make real standouts on a porch, terrace, or by a swimming pool. There has been some minor restoration to the legs, but you will not be able to tell the difference. Inside the planting wells that measure 37.35" long x 11"deep x 6.5" high, you can see bits of the original iron armature showing through that is the tell for real age. Of course, we can skim coat the interiors for a modest up-charge if you so desire. Durable in all climates, these planters should be emptied and covered in harsh winter regions. Faux bois ("false wood") is made from concrete laid over an iron armature for structural strength, and then hand-carved to achieve the finished look of real wood.
