American Cast Stone Sundial with Cast Iron Plate
This lovely and unusual form sundial in four parts is a marriage between an American cast stone pedestal with anthemion leaf decoration and a late 19th C American cast iron sundial plate, marked 40 degrees latitude (just about New York time). It is substantial in form and would make a stunning centerpiece in your perennial garden or in the middle of a parterre. Lovely weathered taupe color to the pedestal and rusted surface to the plate. Small chip to one bottom corner of the pedestal reveals its iron armature underneath, and so helps in dating the piece.
