Magnificent English Carved Stone Wellhead with Provenance
Absolutely superb in all respects, this very large and impressive wellhead was hand-carved from a single block of stone and dates to around 1800. Sourced from a VERY famous estate in Henley-on-Thames (we can't say any more publicly, but you can call us), it would make a magnificent center island sculpture or fountain with the addition of a poured concrete floor and a single flume of water jetting up from the center. In excellent condition with beautifully weathered and mossy surface commensurate with age. Minor and very old chip to one corner that does not detract in any way from the overall effect.
England, CA 1800.
