French Oval Marble-Topped Dining Table with Whimsical Legs
We loved this table from the moment we set eyes on it, as its two different legs and oval top are what makes it special. Someone with a gifted eye has crafted the table using two different cast and wrought iron legs, the left one with four splayed legs and paw feet, and the right one with highly decorative wrought iron. They are attached to a very sturdy oval iron base that supports the marble at the top of the legs and we believe the frame was crafted in the late 20th century using older, but 20th C legs. The marble is old and has been hand-cut, as it is not a perfect oval. There has been a repair to the marble (photo #4) that has been well-disguised, but if you need a clean, unblemished top, this one is not for you. If you like it as is, it is a real stand-out.
